GreenGen Joins WHA Group’s WeCYCLE Project to Advance Food Waste Management and Support a Low-Carbon Society

GreenGen Biotechnology Co., Ltd. is pleased to be part of the WeCYCLE Project, an environmental collaboration led by WHA Group and public and private sector partners. The initiative aims to promote resource management under the Circular Economy concept while supporting tangible greenhouse gas reduction efforts.

On 11 June 2026, WHA Corporation Public Company Limited (WHA Group) hosted the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony for the WeCYCLE project at WHA Tower. This year, the project expanded its network of partners through the addition of Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC) and Total Environmental Solutions Company Limited (SK tes) further strengthening its capacity to manage resources and waste streams in a more effective way.

As part of this collaboration, VISTEC brings scientific knowledge and innovation to support sustainable organic waste and food waste management through GreenGen Biodigester The technology helps transform food waste into valuable resources, reduce waste, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and promote efficient resource utilization in line with the BCG Economy Framework

Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Chairperson of Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC), stated:

This collaboration reflects the role of research in creating Circular Innovation and making a low-carbon society a tangible reality at the community and industrial levels."

A Key Milestone Toward Net Zero Emissions 2050

The WeCYCLE project operates under the BCG Economy Framework and supports the goal of achieving Net Zero Emissions 2050. The initiative covers a wide range of resource streams, including plastics, paper, used cooking oil, organic waste and food scraps, as well as electronic waste, ensuring that these materials can be efficiently managed and returned to productive use.

Key Achievements Over the Past 4 Years:

  • Total waste managed: More than 235 tonnes
  • ลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกได้กว่า: More than 527 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO₂e)
  • Partner network: More than 140 participants, including industrial estate operators, warehouse facilities, and local communities

This collaboration highlights the important role of innovation in maximizing resource value and reinforces the potential of GreenGen Biodigester technology as part of the transition toward a circular economy and Thailand’s long-term sustainability goals.
